On January 11th at 7pm we will be at the RORC Clubhouse in London holding a talk on weather and its effects on inshore tactics.
Mike Broughton will be our guest speaker and he has arranged to cover all the things to look for when racing an inshore course.
The talk will be aimed at racers from a small level of regatta experience, through to those who are looking for the small extra gains which are the difference between podium places.
Knowing which side of a course to take, knowing what the wind will be around certain clouds, and knowing the effect that features on the shore have on the wind are all invaluable skills which could influence your tactics in the middle of the race.
If your yacht is the fastest to react to a change in the wind, then you will have the advantage.
The cost for the evening talk is £10 for previous ‘Children’ but is also open to others at a cost of £15.
Mike is a popular speaker the RORC so please avoid disappointment and sign up early. We are happy to take payment on the night, but a list of names will ensure that we are not over capacity.
The bar will be open for refreshments, and we hope to see as many people there as possible!
