Copa del Rey has always been the at pinnacle of sail of sailing in Spain and the Mediterranean since its inaugural event in 1982. Through out the years the regatta as kept developing and growing to over maintain its position as must do regatta. Hosted by the real Club Nautico over 100 yachts participate every year in the Bay of Palma.
The fleet is split into 7 classes with 11 races for each class over 7 days. With mainly windward leeward racing but with 1 coastal races for the IRC, ORC and the maxi 72 class. To ensure high quality racing the Bay is split into 4 races areas to keep the fleets apart.
Hydra the DK46 was the winner of the ORC class in 2016 and is available to charter again for 2017.
