Later in January, from 27th-28th, is the 811nm Pineapple Cup – Miami to Montego Bay Race. This is one of the oldest offshore races in the US, having started in 1961, and 2019 sees the 34th edition of this superb biennial event.

ABOUT THE RACES
ABOUT PATA NEGRA
Pata Negra is a prototype IRC 46 design by Marc Lombard, built in 2016. Marc Lombard is renowned for designing some great offshore racing yachts, and Pata Negra is a great example of this offshore pedigree, with a proven track record of podium results offshore, including 1st Overall in the Round Britain & Ireland Race 2018, 2nd in Class for the 2017 Fastnet Race and 2nd in class for the RORC 600.
Her twin rudder gives her phenomenal control off the wind, her foredeck layout with inner forestay, forestay and bow sprit gives crews flexibility on sail plan and her carbon rig and asymmetric sail allow her to perform on any race course.
Pata Negra is available for whole boat charter with an owners rep to help you get the most from the boat in this exciting event!
You will notice that the links above take you to a website for LV Yachting. In the past there has been some confusion at events between us and another similarly named company and, in order to clearly identify our brand, along with our proven record in offering bespoke racing yacht charter packages, we have made the decision to change our name from Performance Yacht Charter to LV Yachting.
This will not be an instant change, but it does mean we are marketing next year’s events under a new name. If you have any questions about the change please give us a call or send us an email.
