Pata Negra – IRC 46

We are pleased to offer Peta Negra a Marc Lombard designed prototype IRC 46 built in 2016 for charter exclusively through Performance Yacht Charter in the Caribbean this winter and the UK next summer.

The light weight performance race yacht is perfect for both inshore and offshore regattas. Benefitting from a a carbon rig, and large asymmetric sail plan she can produce speeds in excess of 20 knots.  With the wide transom, twin wheels and twin rudders she is light on the helm and very well mannered in all conditions.

Not only is Pata Negra fast but her fitted interior makes her a comfortable boat for cruising with the family but also to optimise the number of seas berth for offshore racing.  She a has a double forward, 4 singles in the saloon and doubles in each aft cabin with pipe cots above.  12 berths in all if you’re in a Marina or 5 windward berths at sea.

Pata Negra is available for whole boat race charter with an owners rep/ skipper to help you get the most from the boat and the regatta.

Aragon – Marten 72

Aragon was designed first and foremost to be an outstanding performance race yacht. Constructed from Carbon Fibre and Nomex, using the most advanced concepts of pre-preg carbon fibre materials, resulting in a hull, deck and structure that meets the high standard that all racing yachts from the Reichel Pugh are renowned for.

Aragon’s result in the 2016 RORC TransAtlantic is testament to her racing pedigree – 1st overall in IRC in the RORC TransAtlantic Race.

The Archambault A40 is a light weight 40′ race yacht, it has been continually upgraded to keep it competing at the top of its class. This is a great boat with a great track record in the Caribbean.

Stimson 42  – Palpatine

The Stimson 42 is a performance racer/cruiser and suitable for both inshore and offshore race circuit. Palpatine has a large open transom, twin wheels, 3 instruments on the mast and a further 4 instruments on the 2 helms binnacles. Palpatine can be rated for either A sails or S sails, with a detachable 1m prod for the A Sails.  Palatine was built for racing and does not have many creature comforts, the galley is designed for cooking at sea,  the saloon and quarter berths/bunks are open plan but can sleep 10 when offshore. The boat has expedition chartering software, a red wireless box and a Sat phone to download weather during offshore races.

Swan 46 – Aphrodite

Aphrodite is a beautifully presented Swan 46,  built in 1987 she is one of German Frers’ outstanding all-round designs. Fitted with a lavish cruising interior she has three comfortable cabins sleeping up to 10 crew. Fast and easy to sail, Aphrodite is a fine balance between a racing and cruising yacht.

Aphrodite is available for skippered charter to individual or groups and is available to charter for all the major regattas in the Caribbean in 2017.

Fast40+ Class

The Fast40+ Class has taken off in the Solent, providing high performance class racing in an extremely competitive field. The Fast40+ Class is a box rule open to yachts with an IRC rating of between 1.210 and 1.270, suitable yacht include GP 42, Carkeek 40 mkt 2 and Kerr 40+.

The Fast 40+ Race circuit consist of 8 regattas spread over the season with a mixture of windward leeward racing and around the cans racing. With the Fast40+ Class having their own start at these events and others in the year.

Performance Yacht Charter has been granted exclusive rights by the Fast40+ class association to be there charter partner and work with the owners of these fantastic yacht to put charters on the boats around the owners use. This will hopefully help the class the continue growing over the next few season.

First 40

The Beneateau First 40 is a fantastic performance racing yacht capable of winning world class events. Southern Child has the T bulb keel, 3 spreader rig, the lighter stronger balsa core hull, a full inventory of North 3DI and 3DL sails and has had many racing upgrades to the deck hardware. On Southern Child winning races has always been very important so she has been continuously maintained to keep her in peak racing condition.

The J122 is a 40ft asymmetric racer/cruiser, and one of the most successful IRC racers of her generation.

She is well powered, but easy to sail and has therefore been successfully campaigned as a short handed race boat throughout the world.

The J122 has an upwind sail area of 97 square metres, thanks to her 110% headsail area, and a 150 square metre downwind sail area. There is the benefit of a carbon fibre bow sprit and asymmetric spinnaker which makes her easier to race for most teams, especially those with less crew.

Swan 51

NORTHERN CHILD is a beautifully presented Swan 51′ with a full inventory of North race sails. Built in 1984 she is one of German Frers’ outstanding all-round designs fitted with a lavish cruising interior she has four comfortable cabins sleeping up to 12 crew. Fast and easy to sail, Northern Child is a fine balance between a racing and cruising yacht.

Northern Child is available for skippered charter to individual or groups and participates in all the major regattas in the UK and Caribbean, she sails across the Atlantic twice a year and completes many offshore passages between the UK, Mediterranean and Caribbean.

Northern Child is Category Zero coded by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) which means she is able to sail commercially in unrestricted waters around the world. There are fewer yachts every year which maintain the standard that this coding requires. The code covers construction, stability, outfit standards, safety equipment and manning.  Northern Child is equipped with 3 life rafts, automatic and manual life jackets, harnesses, a comprehensive category A first aid kit,  EPIRB, SART, Jon Bouy, VHF, SSB radio and satellite phone.
